Overall our value system has seemed to be sinking lower and lower. We need to start to respect each other and learn to help out each other. Back when I was young the television was not filled with junk it actually had decent family programming.

We also need to focus our attention on the children. To help solve crime and the destroying of the youth, we need to actually start to care about our children. The main reason why kids now a day’s seem to get in trouble with the law or by other means is they absolutely have nothing to do in the community. Setting up youth community programs, sports programs, educational programs designed for the youth would be a start in the right direction. By focusing on them early we would gain the respect and teach them values to help live a crime and safe life. Right now it is like we seem to throw them under and forget about them. Creating more social programs and encouraging parent(s) to be more involved would be a start in the right direction.

Recently on the news I saw a story about how our own Military are being forced to pay extra for baggage is outrageous and downright shameful. It should not matter what the current rules and regulations that are in place, as when it comes to our own Military they should automatically be exempt and any extra fees. They comeback is that they can file a claim but when our Military members are on deployment and need to fly do you think that actually will have time to file a claim.

My personal values and what I believe in.

I am against Abortion and Pro Life.

I am a Christian and a proud member of Christ Presbyterian Church

I believe in Gay and Lesbian rights and that they should be able to marry the same as traditional marriages.
* As I personally think this is an act of discrimination that if I last remembers that we are trying not to do anymore.

I believe in term limits as this will reduce the nonsense in Washington and maybe produce a better House and Senate.

I support complete and no nonsense campaign finance reform. As the most important thing is taking out the PAC and corporations from donated mass amounts of money.

I support that we should limit the time the candidates have to campaign as the current state is way too long. As an example the race for President has been going on for almost 2 years now.

For example:

*President 6 months before the start of Primary season.

*Senate 6 months before the General Election

*House of Representatives 6 months before the General Election

I believe that the Electoral College should be abolish as the use of it no longer is necessary and outdated.

I believe that our present Governor of OH Ted Strickland should release the ban on drilling in Lake Erie. Using this as an example our neighboring country Canada has been drilling in Lake Erie and using diagonal drilling from the shore. The longer the ban is in the place the longer less money is earned from the Natural Gas deposits and the greater amount of money that continues to flow out of Ohio. As removing the ban will create many need jobs in Ohio and will spark investments into the state itself.

My views on National Issues

Ok to everyone that would like to know where I stand on some of the issues that are affecting our area and the country itself, here I go.

This is my Platform on where I stand on the National front:

1) First of all we need to end the political mess in Washington D.C. where little or nothing gets done because of party infighting and Washington bureaucracy. In saying this I will not let any lobbyists influence my decision. As I see all the lobbyists do in the end is water down potential bills and fill their own pockets with the wealth and we the citizens of the US feel the pain.

.. 2) A very important note is the ongoing war in Iraq. I believe we need to be supportive of the good that is coming out of it now and continue the path we are on in providing Iraq with our support. With the recent report of their extensive budget surplus is to be looked at as a very good thing. We should help them not in financial ways but in diplomatic approaches to rebuild their country and infrastructure with Iraq being able to pay for most of the reconstruction.

.. 3) Back at home we need to look in the Social Security. I believe that we the taxpayers should have access to at least half of our taxes being paid into SSI to be allowed to invest it in a way we see fit to. Basically creating a SSI investing/savings account but with a stipulation in that the moneys being paid into it only can be access when retirement age reach and/or when we start to collect the SSI money. As this money that the taxpayers have access in investing cannot be used at any time before retirement age is reached.

.. 4) I believe in a Flat Tax which in the end everyone will pay their own share equally and proportionately and it will be fair to everyone.

.. 5) We need to invest and set up programs that encourage small business and make it easier for them to operate and end the bureaucracy that businesses have to go through to setup a new business. Also setup a tax cut for Small Businesses so they can invest and being able to compete in the open-markets

->6) We should end the ban drilling off our coasts and open up ANWR in Alaska. Allowing this will help end our dependence on foreign oil. This may not help out now but it will help out in the future while there is considerable investment and advancement of new technologies in other forms of energy using non-fossil fuels. Expand the research for using fossil fuels in a cleaner way. As I do not believe in the in what I feel is a falsehood of Global Warming considering the life of our planet we have gone through various eras of warming and cooling periods. Considering for example during the Hurricane season that formed Katrina and Rita most of the scientists said we have entered a very active period and storms will be stronger (then look at what has happened in the last two seasons the amount of storms that were formed were far below what the people have predicted. But I am not against any clean or green changes. We should slowly end the use of plastic bags considering when I was a child brown paper bags were used and widely reused, also in the end paper bags are easily recycled. Instead of having recycling on a voluntary basis it should become mandatory and set-up programs for the US states and cities to implement recycling to reduce the amount of trash that is created. Also we should be encouraging people to be greener and reward our citizens that help in this process. One very simple way in helping this out is by returning to a nationwide speed limit at which I believe either 60-65 should be implemented.

Also on the informative note the jet fuel that is being used is leaded fuel, which this is not helping in reducing carbon emissions. There should be investing in a way to be able to use a cleaner burning fuel.

On a side note, with the advancement of environmentally friendlier transportation vehicles, my view on the use and promotion of electric vehicles is only a feel good strategy. Because answer this question; (Where does the vast majority of our electricity come from?) Fossil fuels so when we go and plug in these cars in the end we are not using less of the fossil fuels.

The use of ethanol is to be a very easy way to reduce our dependence on oil but we need to research ways in refining ethanol cheaper and ways to improve the end performance and MPG as using corn for ethanol is not the only source. Also end the import tariffs that are in place on ethanol.

.. 7) My views on the illegal immigration mess that is in place. We need to secure our borders and build barriers in preventing illegals from crossing into our country. With the illegal’s that are in they should not have access to free anything and instead of setting up and forming new laws. Let’s do this it may sound funny but all we need to is enforce the current laws that are already on the books.

.. I also believe in the line item veto and am against pork barrel projects and add-ons that occur to almost every bill that goes through our congress.

Coming up next is my views that I will fight for that will help our congressional district.

Thanks again in joining me in this revolution in taking back America because the current 2 system party is broken and beyond repair and we the citizens of the United States need to stand up and be able to let their voice being heard. As being able to add a spot on the ballot of a no confidence vote or none of the above, if this can be added it will show to our current elected leaders that they are not leading the country in the right direction.

My Bid on running for House District 9 as a Write-Canidate

Time to Take Back America My personal disclaimer. Please take the time to read this and keep an open mind as I am asking for people to input their views and ideas to help expand my start of a political revolution.

My name is Kent Haberkamp. Welcome all to my new political Blog (or my rant and raving of the American Politics and how we need to step up and start a revolution).

This blog will be ongoing as I will be adding new posts and messages and my views.

As I am going to start off by asking every single voter to use the write-in process in this campaign of true change. As I am official tossing my hat into the political ring. I am asking people to use the write in process for the upcoming November election for House members. I am willing to run a different type of campaign and challenge Marcy Kaptur for her seat in the House. This campaign will not be caring about raising money to fund my campaign war chests. This is a campaign to wake up America and listen to my fellow citizens of the US. As I will not be swayed to open side or the other by groups, organizations, and or businesses. As this is a practice that stops reasonable and responsible policies and neglects in the end the common people. In saying this I will only listen to the people of the US and not by the powerful elitist.

First off my political affiliation is neither Democrat nor Republican as in the present state both of out only two powerful parties have failed us. Our own congress that we the people have voted in office have failed miserably and their popularity rating is so weak. I ask this question why do we vote the same people back in office. My answer is the choices we have between the candidates are slim to none. I think that all ballots need to have a choice of choosing not to vote for a particular race with a no confidence vote or none of the above and these results should be made public with the final results of the race.

In the short of this I am creating my own party. (TBA TAKE BACK AMERICA)
Our current elected politicians are not listening to their own people that put them in office and only care about their own self. Example to this is we the American People and me included do think that we need to open up our waters to drilling for oil and most of America believe in the same thing yet Washington does not listen to us. All they do is play the blame game and make up policy procedures to block attempts at allowing drilling to happen. With that being said yes drilling more for more oil will not solve our own energy problems. I do believe that we need to invest in other forms of alternative energy. I do believe wind, solar power, and nuclear power will help in solving this. The problem is when proposed these new ideas (i.e. new wind farms people and other groups with various organizations block the projects or tie them up until the possible people give up).

Wind Power excuses that people have is that they are unsightly to look at the turbines and/or they kill too many birds.

Solar Power excuses are that the solar panels are unsightly to view or are not feasible to use in large scale.

Nuclear Power excuses are of the radioactive waste. Yes this is a problem but if we focus on security of the waste and the plants this is a safe a viable potential source of power. If you think a great majority of Navy ships and subs use nuclear power and have been using this power for a number of years.

When we finally wake up and realize the drilling for our own oil the benefits will be great and numerous.

Pros: Sending less of own money overseas.
Less oil on tankers on our oceans will reduce the potential for oil tanker spills.
Provide our economy with potential new income by that we are providing our own resources.
It will create new jobs for our economy and new jobs provide more tax income to the government and these new jobs will help out economies in most or all the states.

Cons: Risk of more oil spills.
Examples the fear mongers use so greatly. But with the advancements of drilling procedures less land is use with use of directional drilling.

Risk of off shore platforms having oil spills.
Voice of reason for these people is remember Hurricane Katrina and Rita ripping through the Gulf of Mexico and destroying the oil platforms yet there was no severe or catastrophic oil spills from the storm and the damage of the platforms.

The oil we would produce will not stay in America.
One way we could solve this problem is by setting up guidelines and standards for the oil companies to follow. The oil that we produce from our own country is to stay in America and not be sold on the Global Market.
